A few words about me -
I actually started my working career as a veterinary surgeon, having qualified from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Copenhagen. So why would a fully fledged vet, in essentially full time employment, wish to change tack - quite dramatically - and take up floristry? The answer is quite simply that a few years ago I felt a need to add another dimension to my world. As I loved gardening and flowers and had always loved florists' shops, and it transpired that a City and Guilds course in floral design was about to start at a local college, I jumped at the chance of just taking a little look into the world of floristry. To say I was hooked would be an understatement - working with flowers made me view my surroundings in a completely different way and broadened my horizons.
As I am of Scandinavian heritage I have always looked to Scandinavia for inspiration and design ideas, largely Denmark and Finland, - hence the name I decided on for this venture.
I enjoy working with a range of different materials, and also love the challenge of "Blue Peter" moments where I use various craft materials to create things to a budget. My style in arrangements can be either traditional or contemporary - or somewhere in between if it suits! I am of course also happy to work with potted plants in addition to cut flowers.
I do not provide a catalogue and pricelist as I like things to be tailor-made for each specific event. Thus, the initial consultation is enormously important to get an understanding of the client as a person, as well as a feel for the colours, style, budget, etc.
